Meet Chris, Resident Boyfriend and Computer Genius.

April 3, 2009

This is Chris.

Chris doesn’t like rain. Or cold. As he puts it, “his people are tropical.” (Which, incidentally, is true.) He refuses to acknowledge the rain/cold entirely, in fact, by never wearing a coat or carrying an umbrella.* Never mind that this compounds the problems presented by both rain and cold. We dwell not in the land of reason.

Flash to Valentine’s Day, 2009. We drove down the coast for the day, had lunch, and went looking for a beach. I wanted to document our lovely day and the equally lovely scenery (And, okay, I’m camera-happy.  What?), so I dragged him out of the car for a few minutes. It was a bit windy and lightly sprinkling. He was not pleased. I tried (obviously in vain) to get a decent picture of him, and after much pleading with him to smile, he cried, “I AM smiling!” You be the judge – smile or no?

*The sweatshirt he’s wearing in these pictures is actually mine, which he donned only after much pestering.

Call me a nit-picker, but doesn’t it rain a lot in the tropics? Or is it just cold rain he doesn’t like. For example, is Hawaiian rain OK? Cute pix, by the way!

Hahaha – I’m not sure what his parameters for acceptable rain are, since here in Northern California we never, EVER get Hawaiian-style rain. He did grow up in Texas, though, so I’m betting he likes to be dry at all times. I’ll investigate this further…
(And hi! I’m glad you stopped by!!)
